- Overweight: Excess weight fee charged per extra kg at the airport if a check-in bag exceeds its 10/20/23 kg allowance (amount set in Ryanair Table of Fees, not stated on the bag policy page)
easyJet
- Cabin bag: 1 large cabin bag max 56x45x25 cm, max 15 kg, overhead locker; paid add-on, or included for easyJet Plus members and Inclusive Plus fare customers
- Personal item: 1 small under-seat cabin bag free for all, max 45x36x20 cm incl. handles/wheels, max 15 kg
- Cabin weight: 15.0 kg
- Checked (Standard (add-on)): No hold bag included as standard; up to 3 hold bags per person, 15 kg or 23 kg, extra weight addable online in 3 kg increments up to 32 kg per bag
- Prepaid vs airport: Adding bags online before travel is always cheaper than at the airport, where bag drop desk fees are £60; large cabin bag at the boarding gate costs £60
The short verdict
Cabin space: easyJet allows the larger cabin bag by volume (56 × 45 × 25 cm) against Ryanair (55 × 40 × 20 cm).
Cabin weight: easyJet allows more cabin weight (15.0 kg vs 10.0 kg).
Both airlines count baggage differently across fares, so compare the checked tables before you book the cheaper ticket: a fare with no bag included can end up costing more.
