How We Verify Every Baggage Figure
Baggage blogs copy each other, never cite sources and rarely update. This site is built the opposite way — here is the exact method, so you can check our work.
The rules
1. Official sources only. Every allowance, dimension and fee on this site was read on the airline's own official baggage policy page. The source link sits at the bottom of every airline guide.
2. Date-stamped. Every page carries a "Policy checked" date — currently 30 October 2026 for the whole database. Airlines change fares and fees; the date tells you how fresh the figure is.
3. Missing means missing. If a figure is not stated on the airline's official page, we leave it out instead of estimating it. An empty field is honest; an invented number is not.
4. One database. The checker tools and the guide pages read the same verified database, so the tool can never disagree with the article.
5. Fare-brand level. Allowances are recorded per fare brand (for example Economy Light vs Economy Flex), because that is where the real differences — and the airport surprises — live.
The refresh cycle
Airlines revise baggage policies several times a year, usually quietly: a fee changes, a fare brand loses its included bag, a size limit moves by a centimetre. The whole database is re-read against the official pages on a rolling cycle, and the "Policy checked" date moves only when a figure has actually been re-read — never just to look fresh. When an airline's page cannot be read (some sit behind calculators or scripts), that airline is left out of the database rather than filled in from third-party summaries; the same rule applies to any single figure a page does not state.
Fee data is treated as the most perishable: it is the field airlines change most often and the one where a stale number costs you real money, so every guide repeats the advice to confirm fees on the official page linked in its source box.
Found an error?
Airlines update policies without announcing them. If a figure here differs from the airline's current official page, the airline's page wins — and we want to know. See the contact page for how to flag it.
