Table from official help centre compare seats/cabins section. Some routes (e.g. India, Lagos, South Africa, Pakistan) have 2 bags in Economy per other Virgin Atlantic pages, not detailed here.
Weight concept or piece concept?
Virgin Atlantic uses the piece concept: your allowance is counted in bags (pieces), and each piece has its own weight and size limit. Two lighter bags are not automatically the same as one heavier bag — check the per-piece limit in the table below.
In plain terms
Reading the table from the cheapest fare up: with Economy Light you can check No checked baggage included; with Economy Classic you can check 1 x 23 kg; with Economy Delight you can check 1 x 23 kg; with Premium you can check 2 x 23 kg; with Upper Class you can check 2 x 32 kg. Anything beyond the line for your own fare is charged under the excess rules, so the fare you booked — not the one you nearly booked — is the one that decides what you pay at the desk.
